It's not their real number - this number is displayed when they call so you think it's local/someone you know. (01480 is local to me.) Have had few voice mails left, my voicemail isn't set up so I never listen. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting far more nuisance calls, texts and emails since this "companies need your permission to carry on messaging you etc" business. I feel like these companies shared as many details of their clients as possible before this law came into practice. (hope that makes sense)

Fraud - automated voice call claims I have not paid my taxes and a criminal case has been raised against me. Asks me to press 1 to find out more. Obviously a scam that will either direct me to a premium line or a call handler who will ask for my bank details to make sure my tax payments are okay. If only they had heard of UK PAYE.
