Cold call purporting to be from Amazon Prime with automated American voice saying it was about renewal of my membership. Almost certainly a scam. I terminated the call.

Why they call it's crazy

I got 3 calls between December 28-30, 2016. I was in Thailand at the time. I have no idea how and why it happened but when I blocked out the call I must have accidentally dialed back, TWICE! ! I have now received a phone bill in the amount of 180 GBP for 2

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 1604310xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with Finance Review Centre, loans, PPI, accident claims. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). People did they call you with the same or something new?

SCAM Persistent automated calls claiming to be from 'your internet provider' (immediately an obvious scam as your own internet provider would identify themselves!) then threatens disconnection due to illegal activity on the account. Presume will then attempt to extort money, but don't listen to call beyond the first bit.

Just had the same call from "George Henderson" went along with his lies just to see what he was up to. No doubt after bank details. Or cash to be paid into a dodgy account. I feel sorry for vulnerable people who may fall for this scam. As if the Government have ever given anything away!!

really frustrated that these people keep calling me and texting me despite twice texting them to stop and twice telling them over phone to stop. what can I do?

I had same call and I told him you rung police station and he quickly hung up the call

Same experience as everyone else but unfortunately I am in some discussion with HMRC over some outstanding tax so I was initially taken in and did press option 1. They already knew my address and postcode ( not sure how ) and I was then stupid enough to give them my DOB before I smelled a rat and rang off. Unhappy that they now have some of my personal details.

I'm from Spain ando that phone calle me 3 times un 1 minute WTF.

SCAM Received the number via an SMS. "Hi Mum I'm texting you off a friends phone I've smashed mine and their phones about to die, can you WhatsApp my new number 07717114015 please x"

SCAM / SPAM As mentioned some nonsense about kva on the electric meter

I had 2 calls from this number supposed to be from BT tech. First from an male at 9am then a female at 9:30 both from 02833610015 I did not give them any information and just hung up. I get a fair few of these calls. The next one will be a "will you take part in a survey" so they can find out who your service provider is, then pretend to be them.

Called and hung up. Are these people measured on how many calls they make? This would explain the increasing amount of silent calls I get and block lately.
