Unsure whether it was a scam call or not - talking about our internet connection, disconnecting etc.... couldn't find this number on the providers website. Hence, I just redialled the number and it doesn't exist - what a surprise, not!
Call center, supposed to be calling from Manchester but sound like they come from quite a bit further away.

Fraud Pre recorded message posing as Credit Card company stating your card has been used twice this morning, one transaction supposedly for Amazon the 2nd I couldn’t quite understand but for large sums of money. Asks you to press 1 on your phone to authorise these transactions. Just put the phone down. I’m getting fed up with these people who think they can con other people out of their hard earned money.

Missed call - whoever this was called me at 07:31 this morning! I have a new phone number which has only been given a very limited number of people.
I'm not too certain about the caller, as he started off by saying both my Company name & personal name, & he'd obviously "done his homework" as when I asked him who was calling, he said the name of my provider. Unfortunately he spoke at the speed of sound, so when I asked, he said he'd speak slower, but then the line disconnected, so I didn't get to find out whether the caller was genuine or not. Very rude. Very bad. Wouldn’t tell me who was calling. Just wanted me to confirm my name with a yes or no. When I would not say yes or no and just kept asking who was calling, she said well you can piss off! and put the phone down on me. Don’t ever say yes or no on the phone - they record it and use it as approval for trying to get into accounts etc.
Man with strong Indian accent calling himself "Daniel", claiming to be calling from "Microsoft Encarta" and saying that hackers had infected my PC, so he'd need access to it. A complete criminal scam. I told him I needed to go and get my computer, then left him waiting for ages until he eventually hung up. Number now blocked & reported to ICO.
This. Number called me at 10.45 am. I do not answer numbers I don't know, so I rejected it. Apparently it was from Coventry and I know nobody in that area. Immediately a call came through from a number which apparently was from Cardiff. I rejected that too. Straight away a third number but I haven't even bothered to find out where that was from. These scammers or whatever they are buy up blocks of numbers and register them to different areas in the hope of fooling someone. I NEVER answer strange number

I keep receiving messages in quick succession on my landline answer machine (8 this morning so far). They are clear until the company name is stated, when it becomes muffled. Having looked at the reviews, the calls seem to come from Talk Talk (can hear it is a busy call centre in the background), but I am with BT and have never had any dealings with Talk Talk!
