This is a number used by people dealing in so-called trading not recognised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). They use false advertising incl. British celebrities to steal thousands of pounds from UK citizens. They are scammers to put it mildly and not to be trusted!!!

An urgent verbal message on a loop advising me that Trojan software had been active on my system and that I should not switch off and should phone this number which I did - they said they were Microsoft (a residential number!?) The person wanted me to hold down the Windows and 'R' keys so that he could correct the problem. I asked him if that enabled him to take control of my machine and he then put the phone down. Seems dodgy.

SCAM Called to say my home appliance cover will be discounted. Gave the name of Chris Jones and a contact number of 08007789104. Gave him false sort code and account number to see where this was going. He asked me to "confirm" my date of birth also gave him a false date, he missed the fact it was April Fool's day. SCAM Fraud - Said they were from Sky offering refund because of issues with phone and internet- We don't have any sky package and the person had quoted the family name but were sketchy with first name and even misspelt it when I was pushing who they wanted to talk to and then they hanged up when I said it was a scam call.
