Phone call on the 19-2-24 from "Engine Clinic" from Liverpool to Northumberland, probably a wrong number.

SCAM I am assuming this is a scam number because1) its an unknown number from London, where I am not expecting any calls (I'm in Scotland), 2) I'm harrassed daily with scam calls, mostly from London. 3) the vm this number left was electronic music notes for 30 sec and then disconnect.

Said it was a return number to contact PayPal on a suspicious email. It is not the number for PayPal given on their website. The number on their website is a landline number not a mobile number.

Second phone call from the same woman checking loft insulation and asking me to confirm my address. I refused and asked for company details at which point she hung up. THIS IS A SCAM.

Message arrived over WhatsApp - I guess it's now the platform of choice for scammers, as bulk SMS costs money? Suspicious "hi, hope you are doing well" received, and nothing else. I'd suggest do not reply, not even to ask "who is this?", as it's likely a scam. If it was somebody I knew, I'd expect them to use my name and/or identify themselves if they can see we haven't communicated before.

Scam from asian sounding male suposedly working for Virgin Media and claiming that my router was faulty. After getting me to jump through some hoops, told me that I would be getting a new router and £204.56 in compensation. Missed call My mobile rang only a few times then stopped, I suspect either a check the number is active, or get the number to call back, I learnt this is a London code but I know no one from London that has this number. I would think there could be a scam somewhere in this.
They called claiming to be Microsoft who had detected problems on my computer. I asked them for the 6 digit problem code which the operator didn't understand so I asked her to read out the error message. When she refused I decided it was a scam and hung up.
