They knew my name and said they were "Quadrangle", this was nearly 9pm. Seen the other comments so I have now blocked them.

These calls use spoofed numbers and originate outside the UK. Just block the number if you have the facility. TPS is useless against these callers.

Someone called asking for me, saying they re calling from Transcom about "an account". Asked me for my address, which they said was wrong, and kept asking for my previous addresses, saying it will be a previous address and can I confirm my previous addresses. I have had numerous calls from this person/company over the last few days. When I answer, they put the phone down, they never leave a message and when I called them back, I got an annoying automated message of the person on extension ..... Called no message left. When I returned the call a real person answered alleging they were from HMRC. The call had very noisy background which sounded like a call centre. I immediately hung up the call.

Well they got cut off - put my phone on "do not disturb" 24/7 and "allow calls from contacts" However if you do speak to them and if they ask about an accident best thing is to say "which car?" It gets them every time!

NEVER call unknown numbers back. If you do so, you may be calling a Premium Rate or International number which will incur a large charge on your bill.
