Scammers. Charge you to "optimise" your laptop - cost my 85 year old dad nearly £5000 so far and I'm in a daily battle with them to get it back.
SCAM - Caller said they were our service provider and that our IP address was Public and not Private and we need to as IT to fix it. Suspect it's a prank caller.

Monday May 8 Call from this number stating they were ringing from microsoft. This was one of a series of 6 calls starting on Friday 5th that stated they were (or were probably connected )from microsoft ! Different numbers used for each call; no messages left on answerphone. A chap from a loft insulation company. Seemed genuine but I had my doubts, he didn't tell me what company he was from. He didn't pressure me into buying anything. Just said my loft insulation was inefficient, I just put the phone down and blocked the number.

This number messaged me on WhatsApp “ Have a great day????” and clearly was suspicious. It was marked as a business account, so I don’t know what it was trying to do but I certainly don’t trust it haha.

Scammer claiming to be from O2, offering to reduce my bill by 30%. Didn't confirm my name, if it matches the account holder name, or any account details besides the phone number (which they'd just called, so duh...). Just started asking for the verification code they send you by text when accessing your account. The one where the message specifically states not to give the code to anyone, even people claiming to be O2 staff... Probably not calling from Edinburgh either, probably a spoofed number.
Of this really is th e region for this number and not a mobile number I am surprised. An Asian man, said from Sky and telling me my tv warranty was due for renewal. Just another scammer!!!!
