Telemarketing for PPI claims. Nuisance calls as they keep calling once or twice a day, sometimes hang up without speaking. When they do speak they try to give the impression that they already have details of what you can claim for while asking intrusive questions. They have twice told me that I will be removed from their call list.

Weird thing was, this call came in on my company mobile, the number for which is only given out to colleagues and a few family members. Call center: Indian sounding lady called me and asked for me by name. I asked why she was calling & she said again "Are you Mrs ****?" . I asked who wanted to know. She didn't say. Told her to hurry up as I was about to go out and she hung up. Other people have said this number is someone claiming to be from Domestic & General about an expired washing machine warranty.

I was called by this number and feel concerned that it maybe a scammer: the message - delivered in synthetic speech claimed to be from HMRC and said tax fraud had been committed in my name and I needed to press 1 immediately or I would be arrested for fraud. I did not press 1. I hung up and searched the number but have not seen any negative reports yet.

It says this is Clearanswer, a marketing company and one of BTs partners.....comments from the general public seem to suggest otherwise. A very foreign voice suggested my BT contract was coming to an end. I don’t discuss new contracts with a cold caller. SCAM call received from this number at 1130 on Mon 19/10/2020 stating “THIS IS A CALL FROM BRITISH TELECOM. YOUR LANDLINE AND INTERNET ARE ABOUT TO BE DISCONNECTED. PLEASE PRESS ONE”. I suspect that this is one of those calls which when you press “1” you will automatically be charged for a premium call. If you receive a call from this number, do NOT press 1 and block the number from your system.
