SCAM Had a call from this number 8.45 Saturday morning. Started off saying calling from Virgin media and that my broadband connection was not working properly a d she was going to boost it. Then she tried the old scam of getting me to log on to my laptop or computer and pressing CTRL and windows keys. I wasted her time playing dumb for a bit and she asked me if I was illiterate (rude????). She then tried to get me to press them again and I asked her why I had to and she lost it and told me to f**k off bi*

Claimed to be Carphone Warehouse. I have not dealt with them for over 10 years so either it is a lie or CW are in serious breach of GDPR/DPA obligations.
Called and like others, reported to be from Microsoft, said that they had the serial number of windows that was reporting that my computer was being hacked as we spoke by a criminal gang (how ironic!) and that they were from an agency who needed to stop the gang by stemming the flow through my PC.....Said we know an IT expert who we would ask to take a look ourselves, he (called himself Peter Wilson) said that an expert would not be able to find it. This number keeps ringing me - my boyfriend answered it once (after many calls i refused to answer) and it was a man asking for another womans name. my boyfriend said he had the wrong number and it was left at that. Claiming that I have a record of government subsidised loft insulation on a database. Untrue. I suspect some sort of pressure sale was going to follow. When I asked my address on the so called database he rang off. Potentially fraudulent.

This was a recorded message to say illegal activity had been on my internet which would be cut off in 24 hours. I was to press 1 to speak to someone. Clearly an attempt to get into my computer so cut it off.
I Reported this number to talktalk. , they are scammers. And got abusive when I told them police were involved.
