An Indian sounding lady called to say I owed money on a three sim only contract with them. She claimed I had started a new contract with them in May. This was untrue as I had transferred my contract to Smarty when my contract had ended with them in June. Conversation got quite heated and I asked to speak to a manager. I had a call from this number this morning at 10.49 (approx) and a recorded message came which told me that my Visa card had been used by someone for £900. I didn't bother to listen to the whole message as it was obvious to me that it was a scam. Interestingly I waited a few minutes and then called the number back (which I don't usually bother to do) and a very nice lady answered who said that she ran a clinic. It became obvious that she was genuine and that the scammers had used her number.

This was an Automated machine call stating it was HMRC (07278-161158). I am not aware of any issues I have with HMRC and reason to search if this is a scam.

Fraud - Fake call center selling mobile phones. Just wants to steal details
Scam and/or phishing attempt. It attempted to get me to message the phone number via WhatsApp. The person had sent an SMS from another number (07566706069) claiming to have dropped their phone down the toilet and that they’d instantly acquired a new phone. They asked me to message specifically via WhatsApp (???). This is the fourth message I’ve had this week, from a variety of unknowns, being asked to message a new number by someone claiming to have lost/damaged their phone.
