It's a fraud scam. They've somehow got a list of people who have purchased white goods and they're calling them to tell them the warranty has expired. I told him to fuck off and put the phone down as they were clearly trying to get me to pay for a new insurance policy when I blatantly didn't. This is the second time I've received these unsolicited calls- the first time was from a different number but it's the same scam. The recorded voice message says that it is a call from HMRC regarding tax fraud. You are requested to press 1 to speak to an officer who then calls you back from a listed HMRC number. They inform you that you owe tax & when you ask for details or question why you've not received any written information they become argumentative & threatening.
