Asked for my daughter by name! I asked who they were - he said Benjamin from BT - has she got a problem with her internet? I said that I would ask her (suspecting a scam). Have blocked the number on my wonderful BT phone.
SCAM Called said they were from O2 and were offering 50% discount on my bill. I thought I would go along with it (I'm not with O2) because the longer they are on the phone to me, they aren't scamming someone else. Sent me through to the supervisor who said they would send me two text messages, one to put my details in and another with the discount code. Recieved phonecall from 01702311311 today claiming that some fraudulent transactions had been made using my bank card, one being from Amazon worth £100 & another from an international transaction worth over £1000. I recieved exactly the same phonecall the day before from a different number. I know these not to be true because they never say which bank they are from and never say which card it is from. Just to be safe I will let my Bank know about this so they can keep a check for me.

HMRC scam call. Someone calling from India with no idea how UK tax system works. Tells you that you owe tax and HMRC will take possession of all your property and a police officer is on his way to arrest you. I had good laugh though
