Bunch of low life's, scamming scum. Ask them some basic info about yourself and they break down quickly

This number should be marked DANGEROUS. It is a man replying to adverts on Internet and advertising "rent for sex" scam targeting vulnerable young women. Do NOT engage with this man.

The number = 01709889223, this number phoned me today (at 13:08 on 1st March 2022) and the caller stated they were from BT OUTBOUND ringing about my telephone. They were indian, male and middle aged, they identified themselves as John Martin. I am ex-directory and my phone is registered with the telephone preference service to block sales calls and unwanted calls. I checked online and the number was listed as Indian and Rotherham based. SCAM - Number associated with a scam email requesting users to renew their BT contract as "it is expiring".

Claimed to be from the FCA about a frozen bit coin account. I challenged him to prove he was from the FCA and give me a number to call him back on. He didnt give me a number but tried to say he could prove he was from the FCA bu searching their site for a reference number - the ref number linked to a real person but not someone who worked for the FCA. I hung up and they dint call back - I called the number and it said it couldn't be connected - SCAM

I'd told him that I was not interested in and that I had told the previous 43 callers the same! Does the phone blocking facility ever get full? Hope not.

The case has been reported to the police and would be brought before a magistrate. "Press 1 to speak to a HMRC agent", Obviously I didn't. This country has some of the most advanced telecomms technology in the world. WHY can't the authoriries (Police, BT, the Regulator) take down these numbers?
