Indian man phoned telling me that I was owed ?1000 from a loan that I had in 2005. I told him that I had already claimed all of my PPI but he insisted that if I just say that I haven t claimed before and I will get my money in 2 weeks. I told him that I wasn t going to lie to anyone and that I wasn t happy to continue with the call. He said not to worry and hung up. He didn t give me any vernal abuse.

SCAM This is probably not a UK based number, as the gentleman (with a strong Indian accent) who called said he was in London. I played along for a bit to see what the scam was, and he offered to sign me up to a government backed scheme to clear all my outstanding debts, if I give him my bank account details. When I asked him how the government is going to clear it's own debts, he hung up.
Missed call from these. called back and got a voicemail saying it was a fundraising company on behalf of Essex and Herts air ambulance. as I donate already I suspect this is a genuine enquiry - albeit maybe trying to get me to donate more !
