Answered this tonight after repeated calls, its a PC scam where they get you to look at your event viewer then try to convince you to download software so they can take over your computer.. DO NOT ANSWER. Or... If you do, do what I did, keep them on the phone for 10 mins then tell them you know its a scam!

Indian accented woman claimed to be calling on behalf of UK Government about access to my bank account. Wanted me to give her details of the account! Not a very good script.

Received a text from this number with a link to a bogus paypay verification website to unlock my account only days after an attempted phising / fraud / potential theft exercise after using Gumtree. Links to Nigeria. Reported to Paypay.

The female said she was phoning on behalf of Prestige insurance and was phoning from Hertfordshire.

Received a call from this number, answered but no-one spoke. Decided to stay on the line to see what happened. Complete silence for about 30 seconds then the line went dead. When I 1471 d I got the number 0161 918 0023. On calling the number, I am informed that "This number is temporarily out of order"! Can someone please explain to me the legality of this? The number is obviously NOT out of order when they call me but it is when I call them? Of course it s a scam and, as usual, there seems to be no recours
