He then phoned the business 5 times and I told him I wasnt with Eon but was on the phone to them making a complaint and he hung up. He wanted to know why I had hung up on him 5 times.

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 28958399xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with life insurance, accident claims, PPI - but also as some 3rd party call centre working with O2. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new?

As before, I don't say a word when picking up the phone. Genuine callers will ask for me by name, this bunch just hang up. Today it was this number, yesterday it was 02039 313 517 I am sick to the back teeth of being disturbed by these people multiple times per day.
