Warranty/insurance scam. Problem is few of these scams get reported to the police so it’s rare that the criminals get nicked. THEY PHONED MY SHOP TODAY SAYING THEY WERE FROM METERING DEPARTMENT AND MY GAS METER WAS GIVING FALSE READING OF OVER £6000, THEY WANTED TO SEND AN ENGINEER TO CHECK IT BUT NEEDED MY CONTRACT NUMBER. I ASKED WHAT THE METER NUMBER IT RELATED TO, BUT THEY KEPT ASKING FOR CONTRACT NUMBER. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THEIR MANAGER AND THEY HUNG UP. BY THE WAY I DO NOT HAVE A GAS SUPPLY AT MY BUSINESS.
