Fraud. Usual Asian scammers pretending to be HMRC. The female voice on the automated message, was apparently called "Dennis".
Silent call rang 4 times straight after the other called back no answer. Rang me again. Could hear typing down the phone and whispering.

Asked for me by name. Announced herself as Jane, from Heatland, The Boiler People". When i queried who "Heatland etc." were, she terminated the call with no explanation.
Asked to take part in an 18 min survey about smile.co.uk. Refused.
I am currently getting 4-5 calls a day from this number and they are driving me insane! They are calling really early in the mornings and at weekend too. I m disabled so don t get up and about too early and these "people" regularly wake me up or sometimes I can t get to phone quick enough so they ring off then I ve just got sat down again or back into bed and they ring again. I ve told them I m not a homeowner or eligible for the grant but they just keep on ringing.........

This number buggers me several times a day. Why is it that they keep calling me, when they have my mother s number and could contact her directly.... It s a legitimate number, as I ve checked with TSB themselves when they carried the first time. It s going on my block list.

SCAM / SPAM Didn't answer the call, but there are a lot of 020 numbers reported on Dutch sites today because of spoofing. Also in this case it seems to be about spoofing. Niet opgenomen, maar er zijn op Nederlandse sites vandaag onnoemelijk veel 020 nummers gemeld i.v.m. spoofing. Ook in dit geval lijkt het om spoofing te gaan.

Didn t answer the call and came here to check the number. Lots of these apparently foreign numbers are actually originating in the UK by using software diallers that mask the caller s true location.As other posters suggest, a good rule of thumb is - if the number looks suspicious it probably is.
Phoned telling me they had a cheque to send for refund of bank charges. Had my name and address, wanted my date of birth. When asked which bank were refunding charges just repeated UK Financial Services. Told me they would cancel cheque if I didn t give date of birth. I said that would be fine and hung up. Its time uk phone numbers were stopped from being given to overseas callers.
