Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 1617685xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI, life insurance - insurance marketing. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). People did they call you with the same or something new?

SCAM This was a call from a Asian male who stated he works for Carphone warehouse in West London. He stated that he was given my number because he was given my details by either Three, Vodaphone, EE, 02 and lebara. He stated that there was a contract with these organisation that granted Carphone warehouse the contact details of the customers of the above networks. I questioned him about how he was able to obtain my number, but he was unable to provide any information on how he obtained it legally.
