Answered and guy started to talk (I think) with a lot of people chatting in the background. Then phone went dead. I have now programmed my new Panasonic phones to block this number in the future. What a good investment they were.

Had a call from this number today (06/02/2020). I didn t answer, but just sharing what I discovered when attempting to identify the caller. Several directories show this as a number related to a recruitment company named Catch Recruitment. Hope this helps :)

My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. Gets you to go online, shows you shed load of viruses, licence expiry and explains due to this you no longer have any security on your pc, the security on pc you have therefore won t work until you pay for the licence agreement renewal and pay £400 for a lifetime security installation from Windows. He then convinces you to allow remote access so he can install drivers onto pc
