She was unable to identify any further information about me, other than the fact I am owed a refund back from my bank. Which she could not identify which bank owes me this money. I been contacted many times in the past few years by these scammers on very similar 0161 939 numbers. Fraud call came in from the number 07951 799 817 they spoke with an Indian accent and claimed to be calling from Microsoft Service. We had been hacked, and it was our duty to Microsoft to allow them access to our PC. When we told them that what poof did we have that we'd been hacked, they got very aggressive and said that it was done to us if we didn't believe them and that it would on our own heads if we lost our money as a result of being hacked. So we put the phone down on them.
Yet another call scamming off the "your insurance / pension was mis-sold" junk which is doing the rounds at the moment.

This number is one of those trying to get you to claim PPI.
I assume this was a phishing attempt as the automatic message claimed to be from "my bank" (no specific bank mentioned) warning me of an Amazon debit and a large international transfer. Press 1 to speak to an "advisor".

I was contacted by this number who said they were Carphone Warehouse and I was due an upgrade on my phone. I felt the telemarketer was very friendly but was very pushy. Repeating my details over and over. He then had to phone back to say that my address wasn t on their system and that I needed to phone Orange and update even though I have lived at my address for 34 years and had 3 Orange contracts. Needless to say I told them not to bother.

Allegedly it is BT detecting suspicious activity on my phone and they will disconnect me. As I am not on BT so this is probably an attempt to get my bank details for fraudulent purposes.

If you don’t press 1 immediately, an warrant will be issued immediately and you will be arrested shortly” HMRC doesn’t call like that, they will write to you if they need something.
