I have received 3 text messages from a number claiming to be BTBusiness asking me to call them back at this number or text STOP to 60251. As I don't have an account with BT at all, I've ignored them but 3 messages in 3 days is a bit annoying.
Cold caller selling loft insulation hung up when I queried them
They said they were calling from HMRC, however HMRC never calls mobile numbers. Phone scams are a common way for criminals to con people out of money using various tricks to get your personal or financial information. A funny voice asked me to wait until the next HMRC agents would be available. TAXES / HMRC Received a recorded message from female with American accent, (similar voice to many other recorded calls threatening legal action). It purported to be from HMRC and legal proceedings have been instituted against me. Told me to press button 1 for further information. This is DANGEROUS THREATENING BOGUS CALL. This number claimed to be from Apple and sent a malicious link within the message. The link was a .com domain and was Apple.info-30. Do not click on the link if you have been sent this. Stay safe all.
