SCAM I was phoned by this number today. It was a crackly line and the woman said she it was a bank call telling me that there were 2 suspicious payments from my bank account today. One for £300 and one for £3000. There were nos to press to agree to the payments or a number to speak to someone. I ended the call and then redialled the number registered, but it said that it was an incorrect number.

Got call from the number the guy said calling from EDF energy and asked for which energy provider you are using I responded with why you need this information then the call got disconnected immediately got call after few minutes from the same number and now been told calling from British gas and started asking for details about current supplier.

They said they were from HMRC. That I was due a refund due to my tax on a ppi claim. I have never claimed on a ppi form. I asked them to put the information in the post, they declined saying they don’t use the post. I then said we’ll send me an email and if you are HMRC you will have my email address. They then said if I changed my mind to phone them. Very strange

SCAM - pretending to be from BT - about my internet speed. BT is not my ISP, but call using a local Derby number told me that BT is the parent company of all Interned and Broadband services, not true! Trying to force me to check my speed when I can check it through my own ISP. Wouldn't take no for an answer, told him I am going to call BBC Scammers and he hung up.

It seems as though this could be a nuisance caller. My husband and I have both had calls from this number today, on our mobiles, while on holiday in France. SCAM - DO NOT RESPOND This was a recorded message saying two potentially unauthorised payments had been made on my card - one of £300 and an international payment of £1,000 - followed by the option of approving the payments or speaking to someone about them. This sounded like a scam ( there was no mention of which bank the call was from), and so it turned out to be when I checked with the bank.

Clearly reading from a script, trying to encourage you to take one of their “deals”. Won’t take “not interested” as an answer.
