Dodgy outfit asking me about the "accident I had recently" then passed me to unintelligible guy with Indian accent asking me to reveal details of car accidents in last 3 years. Not had any nor did I ask them to call. I have registered with the Telephone Preference Service.

Sounded vaguely feasible until I 1471 d the number and got this one-was expecting a local number as she said (and was perfectly polite, no aggression at all) she was calling direct from my local Tesco Express. But same as others-advertising in their local glossy, have never seen one and "from £15 per week" seems extortionate anyway for a 1/4 page. Anyway. Received a call from 02039741025 and when I answered I was greeted by an automated voice message saying my details had been linked to fraudulent activities and that if I did not call them back my bank accounts would be frozen. I blocked the number on my phone and 1 day later I received a similar call from 02039174216. I have not been able to confirm this but it all seems to be a scam.

They ask for the person responsible for your Electricity and the government guidelines that come into place, I explained the person does not wish to speak to you. The lady got very abrupt saying "the person doesn t want to speak to me, that s alright, I shall contact your provider that you are not interested" I basically put the phone down.
SCAM man with Indian accent saying he was from O2 offering 40% discount to their customers and would send a text with offer. Kept saying I hadn't received text so he stayed on the line and kept sending texts. Eventually told him that I wasn't with O2 so he hung up.

Caller identified herself as Julie Smith from Signet Advice (as far as I could tell with some background noise). Said she d been informed I was recently injured in a car accident that wasn t my fault. I asked her how she knew that. She replied that she was sorry to bother me and would remove my phone number from their database and hung up on me without pausing for breath. Pond scum. (My number is registered with TPS and I can t stand talking to idiots so I ve reported them)

If you tried to ring it back and it said the number hasn t been recognised, then it doesn t exist and is a scam.
