Obvious a spam email. Said I had placed an order with M&S but the email address was from a bookshop!
Pick up phone, noise in the background like a call centre, I said hello and they cut off.
Usual gap with noise in the background then a competitor voice saying "hello"

They said they were calling from HMRC, however HMRC never calls mobile numbers. This number was used to send me a Payment Request from a Caroline Fox via PayPal for £729. I called PayPal and reported phishing. Apparently this is not the first time this request has been made from this person.

SCAM - Phoning me about loft insulation. That's funny, the address they phoned is a first floor flat, with no loft. I was about to explain that, and they hung up.
Fraud VERY aggressive woman insisting we needed more and safer insulation as ours was old - Told her it's brand new (which it is) and she hung up on me. We are TPS registered, too, so there's nothing legitimate about this call
Banking scam. Fake recorded message saying unusual transactions have occured on your account and to press 1 or 2 to speak to an adviser. A bit of a stupid scam, because you simply check your banking app on the spot and see there's no pending transactions!
