The caller was an automated voice claiming to be the HMRC. I was told that legal action was being taken against me for tax evasion and that I needed to press 1 on the keypad to get more information. Instead of doing that, I hung up and logged into my account online; nothing of the sort has appeared on my account, so I have to assume this is a scam aiming to get personal information from people

Yet another scam call from an Asian voice claiming to be from Windows help desk and tracing e-mail addresses used recently for attacks on other machines
Automated message claiming to be from Amazon. Says press 1 to renew payment to Amazon Prime. Scam in my opinion.
Automated call - don't answer. It's an automated call claiming there is an issue with your National Insurance number, that your "assets" will be seized and that if you don't press 1 to connect to a person you will no longer be able to use your NI number.

Text message from PayPal saying my account is blocked and to click a link. I went onto the PayPal app separately and there is nothing wrong with my account. I reckon this is a SCAM.

Its about time the TPS in this country gained real power like the US, over there if a company calls after being told not, they have to pay a fixed penalty to the homeowner. Don t be fooled you will never get your high street vouchers or get through on the telephone.
Indian "gentleman", claims he is from Microsoft. Says my computer is downloading spurious files. I asked him how he knew it was my computer, he said by the machine ID. When I asked what this was he quoted "888DCA....." which is NOT a machine ID, it is a standard Microsoft code related to zip-files, which I told him. The call was terminated immediately...!
When answered line went dead after a few seconds. Tried calling back and goes straight to answerphone. Unknown if legit?

Rang once, couldn t understand name of company but heard PPI, so put phone down, rang back immediately and the male operative said, "Why did you put the phone down", I replied, "Cos I m not interested". He answered, "Interested in what" in an angry tone, so I just said, "In whatever you re selling" and hung up again. The phone then rang again immediately and I didn t answer. Didn t like the tone of the call at all, or appreciate being rung back a further twice.
