This was one of a series of 6 calls starting on Friday 5th that stated they were (or were probably connected )from microsoft ! Different numbers used for each call; no messages left on answerphone. Wanted to talk about my life insurance policy but said it was an "AIG policy" which it isn't. When questioned on this he repeated the same thing once and then stealthily changed it to say he was working with my provider and AIG. Double checked and the two companies don't appear related. He then started on the spiel where he called it a personal policy which it isn't. Let him continue to waste his time and then told him the truth when he asked at which point he hung up on me. Total scam BS.

ActiveQuote - Private Health insurance. Call center They call at renewal time, presumably so they can get another commission. I chose my existing provider from a comparison website and don't need any "advice" to renew with them. Obviously, if you keep change providers any pre-existing medical conditions won't be covered. You can supposedly email [email protected] to update your preferences. I haven't tried it yet, but it should stop the calls.

SEXTORTIONIST warning scam operator. Will seek financial information for a PDA from the UK with the lure of having sex.
I received an automated voice call from this number, telling me that they were from my Internet provider and my Internet services will be disconnected due to illegal use. They requested me to "press 1 to speak to an advisor" but I hung up. I then returned the call from my landline and received an automated reply telling me that nobody was available to take my call. Obviously a scam, so beware!

Claim to be fro the bank notifying me of two transactions and a press 1 or 2 to activate or contact fraud team. My bank has a different way of contacting so another scam call.
Scammer claiming to be from O2, offering to reduce my bill by 30%. Didn't confirm my name, if it matches the account holder name, or any account details besides the phone number (which they'd just called, so duh...). Just started asking for the verification code they send you by text when accessing your account. The one where the message specifically states not to give the code to anyone, even people claiming to be O2 staff... Probably not calling from Edinburgh either, probably a spoofed number.
