This number (01733 347007) is from a scammer. The guy claims to be from the fraud department of my bank and someone tried to change my bank account address but couldn't pass the security check. Hence his call to notify me. He knows my name, address, phone number and the bank that I have an account. I only caught it as I asked him about the phone number that he was calling from. I said I will call the bank directly, then he starts swearing, etc. Be aware of the criminals.

If this really is HSBC s fraud dept they are staggeringly incompetent and l am by no means convinced that it is. Question of whether there has been fraud on my account remains unsolved - l was unable to give the exact year that l opened my account - approx 40 years ago - and so failed my telephone security check . SCAM call asking to speak to a person who doesn't exist at my address - when asked who was calling, he said he was calling about the washing machine warranty that's expired and he was calling to offer a renewal. I asked him what washing machine and he said 'the washing machine manufacturer's warranty - i.e. didn't answer the question. I asked him who the company was and he said PYG - when I said, never heard of them, no such person as you requested and we're on the telephone preference list, he hung up.
