Said they were BT, I had too many people using my IP. The account name was wrong. They said they could block them from their server, but it would be better from my PC. After my challenges they sent a text message with a verification code. It said to change my password. I did. Had one previously, real BT support said it was a scam. Assumed this identical call was too. Only the false account name was a clue, otherwise how can you tell?

O2 fake call Aggressive advertisment for fake provider

I received a call from someone claiming to be from O2 offering a 50% discount. Wanted me to read a one time code. I checked and I did have a text from O2 but the code said it was to retrieve my account and that O2 would not ask for the number. I told the guy this and he insisted that it was a promotional code and the warning meant I shouldn't tell anyone else about the number. Looked up the number and it wasn't connecte with O2. I demanded proof from the guy that he was from O2 and he got upset at me. SCAM!

Told him EE have my email address, to email me and then he said only the marketing department will have that...Told him I don't agree to just anyone claiming to be from EE to get money out of me for a contract I can't see.
