Received a call from this number from person with Lancashire accent said he was from HYA. When asked who was HYA he said the company dealt with taking card payments. When I stated I was not interested he asked 'Why not'. I realised it could be a scam to obtain bank details and cut them off.

They called to say I had a minor accident in the last 2.5 years. When I asked what vehicle it was, they said they couldn t tell me because of data protection. I enjoy keeping them on the line while they waste their own time. Sometimes I tell them I m just getting the details and leave them hanging on. It stops them calling anyone else for a while until they get fed up.

So I do not know how they will extract money from me unless they send bill to Tesco. I do not know whether to text back. To me it seems a bit concerning to text some scammer. The caller implied that she was representing a Government department. After confirming identity the caller insisted that I had had a bank loan in 2009. When I queried as to the bank loan details the caller hung up.....
