I tried to book a room at The Principal Oxford Spires Hotel, Abingdon Road, OX1 4PS, Oxford and called a number 08448542910 indicated on their website. I had to call twice as there was an automated telephone service and no one was able to answer my phone calls. Last month I saw a charge of 1.38 GBP plus VAT on my phone bill!! What a wrong way to make money!! Looks like the hotel is doing that badly so they have to charge potential customers to simply book a room. According to the reviews on the above number

Called today. Heavy Indian accent and lots of Indian voices in the background. Said he was calling from BT Tech dept....yeah ok like I believe that. I told him he was in for a big surprise as we had traced his number and would take matters further as he had reached an internal secure line at Essex police headquarters(he hadn t) but he hung up really QUICKLY. It s about time BT stopped selling blocks of numbers to scammer scum. If they don t then we, as genuine customers, should be able to sue BT.

I get at least three calls a day from this company who transmit automated tele-marketing messages about me qualifying for a government funded boiler. The number is 01604 761440.Most of the messages go to my answerphone and while on holiday recently they completely filled my recording space. I am TPS registered and they still persist in calling so I will be taking further action. Clearly this company is breaking the law and I am feeling both harassed and agitated by the annoyance. Phoned telling me they had a cheque to send for refund of bank charges. Had my name and address, wanted my date of birth. When asked which bank were refunding charges just repeated UK Financial Services. Told me they would cancel cheque if I didn t give date of birth. I said that would be fine and hung up. Its time uk phone numbers were stopped from being given to overseas callers.

I agree - this seems dodgy. I was sent an email that was suspicious and they asked me to phone this number. The order reference was not like anything I had ordered. Weird
guy rang saying he was from talktalk tech department and i had errors showing with computer. wanted to know what it was and to turn it on. i then hung up. is it a legit talktalk number?.

The number is from SCAMMERS. When you pick up the phone when they call, you get immediately the waiting music. This is typical scam behavior. If you call back, you probably get into an expensive hotline.
