An Asian (possibly Indian) sounding man who claimed he was calling from TPS - telephone preference service and wanted various items of personal information. I told him no he was a scammer and not to phone my number again - then I blew a whistle into the phone until he hung-up.

This number called my phone. I did not answer. The phone rang 20 times. So they thought it was really worthwhile ringing my number. My number used to belong to an elderly person. Having read the comments on this site, I guess that they have some way of targeting elderly landline users. Why don't BT/the police take them out?
