SCAM automatic voice recording claiming they are HMRC and I will be arrested if I don't press 1 because there is a fraud on my account
Either phone rings and there is an engaged tone when I answer, or I answer it and it seems to be from a foreign call centre threatening debt collection, court and bailiffs when no one in my home even uses 3! I ve asked them 3x on the phone, 2x by webform, and 3x in writing to never contact me again, but keep being ignored. Not acceptable. Lady with Asian accent said she was from BT, asked for the email address of the person who she should email about an internet and systems update. I said we didn t use BT and I was suspicious of the call, she put phone down.
Caller identified herself as Julie Smith from Signet Advice (as far as I could tell with some background noise). Said she d been informed I was recently injured in a car accident that wasn t my fault. I asked her how she knew that. She replied that she was sorry to bother me and would remove my phone number from their database and hung up on me without pausing for breath. Pond scum. (My number is registered with TPS and I can t stand talking to idiots so I ve reported them)
