This is the negative balance team from Paypal (See https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Subscriptions/Paying-an-outstanding-recurring-payment/td-p/1000315 as an example). This team will call Paypal customers if a payment on their account has been paid by paypal but not by the funding source, creating a negative balance. Suspected scam call.
Call went to answerphone and hung up. Called the number back and as with several similar calls from other numbers recently, the number was not recognised. Now blocked but it wasn't a legitimate number anyway.
It is obvious that the firm making these calls is also manipulating this forum. Both are equally shite. In my case they have a pretend-itslocal pseudo number. Jail for you soon. Not soon enough.

Like all the other comments, this was a recorded message claiming to be from Inland Revenue (I should have smelled a rat immediately at that point - it s HMRC now...) and that I was being sued. Brain not in gear, and in panic, dialled 1, but silence at the other end, then call terminated. I am now so angry. I answered the call but they hang up. I've received two calls from mobile numbers that have the same first 5 numbers. These scammers seem to use a number very similar to yours. I guess to make you think it looks like a genuine caller. Best is not to answer. If there is no voice message left then it is likely to be a scam.
