This time I waited until the end of the message, when the it suggests that you can Press 9 to request they don t call again. I pressed 9 and the line went dead. It ll be interesting to see if they stop calling me. If they don t stop, I ll write to OFCOM, and copy a letter to the police and to my local MP, who just happens to be David Cameron. Hung up as I answered, used 1471 to get this number , only to be told on ringback that it does not exist. Might be linked to 01424899233 which rang a couple of hours earlier with similar result.
They keep calling but cannot get through because my Call Guardian challenged them, but the number is on my Call list. Every day they call. Sometimes the number appears as 00144 1234919006, this is because they are altering their calling ID on a computer. I believe this is another Indan/Packi scam. Call claimed to be from Vodafone retentions department promising me a 40% discount, asked me a bunch of security questions and then asked me to read him the code from a password reset email that he had triggered on my Vodafone account. This apparently would enable him to send me the priority app so I could access 5G calls and VIP features. Alarm bells at this point. I said I'd call him back then checked with Vodafone. They confirmed that this is not a number they use and not to give out any information. SC
