When I rang back an answer phone came on so I put my phone down in case it was a scam to over charge me.

This Andy Mulcahy is a fake pseudo working for these scammers. Ignore "his" positive comment. These are crooks pretending to be associated with your insurance company. They have fraudulently if not criminally obtained your details and will try to get you to use their services. Put the phone next to a radio and let them babble on. When they disconnect, call the Police and register a complaint with the ICO.
