Apparently calling from Virgin Media about problems with my router (third one this morning all from different numbers). It was clearly an automated robot thing as it was stuck on a loop and kept asking me if I was ok!
Called my landline on 5/June/20. English woman, apparently in a call centre. They had my name (I didn't confirm) and claimed to be from BT-Openreach, although I don't get my service from BT. Strike 1 She then claimed I was with Zen Internet (I'm not). Strike 2 I declined to give the name of my service provider and asked what she was after. She hung up. Looked dodgy to me.

These people obtain, STEAL, your tel. number from your ip address via metadata. Ever come accross annoying adverts when browsing online which doesn t let you close? ie. Engadget, youtube etc... Mine was a survey which popped up whilst online and I had to wait 20secs inorder to dismiss that advert. Enduring the agonising 20 secs. Almost certainly a scammer. These calls use spoofed numbers and originate outside the UK. The scammers can spoof any number they want. Block the number if you have the facility.
