Called twice this week on call out number for plumbers - asking to speak to person who deals with coffee consumption. Were told that we are in serviced offices - so we do not have anyone dealing with coffee. harrased me for the number of my office building - told sternly NO. Call back 2 days later, same again

Old scam - after your data to sell onto other criminals who disregard the law. Just hang up. Good reporting them to the ICO. You don t even need to know their name, just their number. caller didnt announce himself, just asked me to confirm personal details but when i asked, he claimed to be from "the nationwide". He had my name, phone number and postcode. He wanted me to confirm my age but as soon as i asked him further questions he hung up and ended the call. This was obviously not a legitimate call from the nationwide building society.

Received a call offering a free tablet, declined as I did not believe they were calling from Vodafone themselves, and hung up. Then received a seemingly automated text message from Vodafone advising the call was genuine, but the grammar in the text was poor - "infact", "you wasn t sure", "removed you from our list of customer" - so I can t be sure if it is genuine. Surely a big company like that would check something so simple?
I’m suspicious of this number as it came up as Imperial College London but it’s a Bridport number.
