Automated scam phone call purporting to be from internet service provider threatening to disconnect service due to illegal activity unless contact is made.
Pretended to be a local business wanting an emergency Plumber (so avoiding our reception staff) they then tried to sell Screen advertising.... As per other reviews underhanded.

SCAM I have had three calls from this number today, and at least that number over the last few weeks. It purports to be from amazon, and opens by congratulating me on my amazon purchase. It goes on to say " if you did not make this purchase.......". I cannot say what the remainder of the message is, because at that juncture I terminate the call. The offending number is 07388730907; it is registered in the Russian Federation, and I can think only that it is an attempted scam.

I m averaging two cals a day from these callers with heavy indian accents variously called Mike Smith, Kevin and Dave they say they are from Surrey and want me to get on my computer because it has been infected with malicious software, and my virus protectin has been compromised. I asked for their number and got this 01905 number. Avoid like the plague.

This number has called me on several occasions and leaves no message. Call back the number and it s a message from LVM on behalf of a client. Telesales. You can call them back on 0800 013 6675 and remove your number from their services. It takes up to 5 days
no message left, obviously didn't realise they were still on the line. voices in the background sounded like they had an Indian accent and I could not understand the language they were talking in. Obviously power dialling as my telephone provider uses UK call centres. As to motive? don't know but should not be cold calling my number

Call center -operative claimed to be from Virgin Media Technical Services; said he needed me o take my (landline phone) into the room with the computer, then turn it on, so he could do something to my router, to "give me the speed [I] was paying for". I've had at least four calls from these guys (with heavy Asian accents, to the point of not being able to be understood); it is the same script, but the calls have come from a number of different phone numbers in the West Midlands. This guy called to say he s from Windows and my computer is hacked. He gave a licence number & wanted me to get on line to check it was the same as my computer s so he then could stop the hacker rather than having to shut my computer down. He then gave me his number to call back, got very forceful when I didn t and again when I said didn t have time to do it. Told him he was rude and hang up. Microsoft have nothing to do with this.
