I asked for more details and he hung up This morning he phoned again and again said he was from Chase Alexander and wanted to speak to my husband. When I asked him what he was calling about he said it was in regard to an accident. I informed him my husband had not had an accident could he be more specific. Scammers pretending to be from Virgin Media. Wanted me to download remote access software on my personal mobile to help me make our internet more secure as scammers were hacking it making it run slowly...
An indian woman called me from this number saying she was a BT employee and could see from my account that I have issues with slow internet which I do. She said she needed me to run some diagnostics from my computer to check the issue my end. At this stage I felt it might be a scam so asked if I could have a number to contact her to validate that she was a BT employee. At that point she put the phone now on me.

I didn't catch the company name but it was something to do with home cover - the man asked if I was me, so I said no but could I help. He said he was ringing about the cover on the washing machine at (gave my address), he said it had expired and he just wanted to check if the machine was still in good working order. I said I didn't understand and that he must have the wrong people

This a scamster trying to get you to pay money by posing to be your relative who has just damaged their phone and asks you to save this number as theirs. This number is being used for criminal activity.
caller didnt announce himself, just asked me to confirm personal details but when i asked, he claimed to be from "the nationwide". He had my name, phone number and postcode. He wanted me to confirm my age but as soon as i asked him further questions he hung up and ended the call. This was obviously not a legitimate call from the nationwide building society.

Was called three time in 20 minutes. Silence. On third call I told them to stop calling and was told to " disconnect the line, you c..t" This is at 8 in the morning. How do these scammers get away with it?
