Asked the caller for his name and name of the company he worked for. He just kept repeating my name, saying 1twas the same as his. I told him to remove my number from his list but he refused to do so saying it wasn t possible. I ve now blocked it.

Unrecognised tele number that actually left a message in the form of a female electronic voice with US accent. Message didn’t begin as you would expect - seems to come in part way through a sentence - but the gist suggests an arrest warrant for financial irregularities has been issued & to call the number back. No name reference etc. Clear fraud. Number blocked but will keep in case of a future similar call from a similar number & pass to the authorities. Derbys.

There is no such number associated with Halifax customer services obviously after my bank details.

SCAM Received a text message from this number (supposedly HSBC) saying i had authorised a payment of £195.00 to Mr C Jones. The message goes onto say that if it was not me, to cancel by clicking the link in the message. They must think i was born yesterday! Firstly i have never owned an HSBC account, secondly i don't know a Mr C Jones and thirdly, i would NEVER click a link in a text message even if i knew who the message was from!

REALLY HALIFAX. IGNORE THE PEOPLE SAYING THIS IS A SCAM THEY ARE 100% WRONG. Turns out my emergency credit card had a fraudulent payment on it. I’ve never used the card so Halifax must have leaked my details, which is highly worrying. I was suspicious so I called the number on the back of my bank card to be safe but yes this is 100% Halifax’s fraud number. At 8.20am I answered my land line thinking it must be important and was a local number. It was a automated message saying ‘thank you for your payment of £299 for anti virus, if any problems please call our free phone number’ The number I’m afraid I didn’t get and it didn’t say any company either. I’m sure this is a scam of some sort that they catch you when you call to complain so very much aimed at the trusting, naive or elderly.
Supposedly not trying to sell me something but wanted to know if I still had fibreglass loft insulation. I refused to tell him until he explained why he wanted to know - if as he said, he wasn t trying to sell me something. Needless to say, he hung up!
