I have just received a call to my mobile phone at 11.15am, Tues 18th August 2020, telling me that I am under suspicion of fraud by yourselves and to press 1 to speak to an advisor. Failure to do so would lead to my arrest etc. etc. As I am aware that HMRC do not make calls of this nature I ended the call and blocked the number which was made from 020 3953 6778. And followed your advice. I am lucky that I consider myself savvy in these situations but i have relatives I know who are not.

fed up of them ringing me they are now blocked from my phone, there a con do not answer and do not ring them it will cost you a lot on your mobile
