A few days after answering the call from 02081619770 I received a message on my answer machine about unauthorised transactions on my credit card and inviting me to press various numbers to talk to someone. This confirms my suspicion that the original loft insulation call is simply a way for the scammer to confirm that the number dialled is real. TAXES / HMRC Fraud Automated call claiming to be HMRC investigating a fraud and threatens issuance of arrest warrant if you don't speak to an agent. When challenged, the "agent" hung up.

This number called me to say that my number has been used in a serious number of crimes and my national insurance number will be suspended if I don’t press 1 to talk to someone. This isn’t real as the police would ring me directly or turn up at my house, not use an automated voice message to tell me. I hung up instead of pressing 1.

This is a Indian "scammer" pretending to be "Fraud Department" or "Cyber Crime UK". He uses fake names Smith, Alex. They have sent a fake email to my grand father and luckily I saw the email. These guys are fraud. I reported it to the police.

Called me a few times back to back super early in morning i didnt anwser and recieved no voicemails either assuming its a scammer.
Didn t answer but voicemail was left. I listened to the msg which was: "Hello, I m from (inaudible) care(?) concept, I m calling about your car accident, can you confirm? (long pause) Oh, ok, I ll remove you from our system" Blocked this number now.
