Chap claiming to be "Jim from Unique Preferences" (with a thick Indian accent) wanted to ask me "a few simple yes or no questions". He insisted he was not trying to sell me anything. The purpose of the call was "marketing". He said his company s partners would be able to make me offers which could save me money. apparently from my bank re 2 fraud transactions on my account. never say which bank. i was supposed to click 1 or 2 depending on my answer, but walked away and left phone as I knew it was a scam. my banks never use a mobile number and would contact me via their apps or a landline which I recognise

Cold call, sounded suspect
Had a Spam Call with 01223936981 displayed (Cambridge). Recorded message played to me with usual '£700' suspicious charge from Amazon and '£2000' International Charge made on my Account etc. Ignored the request to respond. Telephoned the displayed number 15 minutes later, got 'unobtainable signal'. Note : an hour earlier had the same call but with a local Northampton number displayed. I called this number and the residents did not know anything about the Call. They reported it to BT for investigation.

Answered call and it was a recorded Chinese language voice recording not sure where this is from I just ended the call and put a block on this number.
TAXES / HMRC Scam
Automatic robotic female voice message claiming to be from Amazon. Said my Amazon account would automatically renew today for £39.99. Hmmmmm..... I do not have an Amazon account. "If you need to speak to an operator press 1" so I did. Asian sounding bloke asked my name, address, Amazon account number and date of birth. Probably all he needed to order stuff from an Amazon account ! Called him a scammer and told him to foxtrot oscar. Beware people as I have never heard this one before.
Had 3 calls in the space of two hours. Did not answer as aware it was a cold call.

Yesterday afternoon (30.09.2014) I entered my details and mobile number on a site I was purchasing goods from through Amazon. Within the hour I received a call from this number. I didn t answer it as I didn t recognise the number. Instead I did a search for the number and came across this site with the exact same number identified as being related to a scam. I blocked the number straight away...
