Indian sounding chap rang saying he was calling on behalf of "Telephone Preference Management" and asked if I was receiving nuisance calls and if so they were going to upgrade my service so that I will not receive any nuisance calls for the rest of my life. He knew my name, wife's name, daughter's name, address, post code and that I was with BT. Well for a start I am not with BT and when he asked if I paid my telecoms bill by direct debit then it was time to politely tell him goodbye.

They keep calling but cannot get through because my Call Guardian challenged them, but the number is on my Call list. Every day they call. Said British Gas calling, press any number to continue, I hung up and rang British Gas from the number on the bill for complaints. I was told it was not their number and they had not called me. Looks like a scam that may connect to a premium rate number
