It seems to be all sorts of scams, according to reports on other sites - bank account overdraft or debts, deliveries, etc. The variety would suggest it s a prank caller.

Fraud - recorded message saying that my NI number is suspended due to association with illegal activity and that I'm about to be arrested if I don't speak to an operator.
Missed a call from this number so I called them back. They refused to tell me the company they were calling from without me first confirming my name, and they got quite annoyed when I questioned this practice... bizarre!
