Insurance claim scam - ask for your personal details without giving away any of their details. Take great care.

Claims to be from HMRC. A text-to-speech program tell you, your name has been linked to fraudulent activity. If you don't press 1 on the keypad you will be fined and charged immediately. They of course don't actually know your name. When you press 1 an American accented person tells you to hold on the line, then some terrible classical music starts to play whilst you're on hold. I didn't wait very long until I hung up. I lasted 4 minutes until I decided it was possibly fraudulent itself.

Said hello and hung up.

Got call on w new mobile number. Picked up call but could hear nothing. I've tried to call back this morning and all I get is some frantic piano playing and a fast US message asking me to stay on line for next available agent. Apparently my call is very important to them! After 5 mins I rang off. Is this a number that just gets people to hang on and they get the revenue??? A waste of time.

This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with PPI.

Repeated phone calls from this number. I picked up one, and got the response 'OOh, you sound butch'. Caller then hung up.

SCAM Fortunately, I have TruCaller home phone so pushed it straight to the "waiting" queue and as they didn't leave a message or say who was calling did not route through to the actaual phone ring. I already had this number blocked on my Mobile and in Malwarebytes as it claimed to be from BT saying there was a problem with my broadband... when I mentioned that I worked for BT as a fault engineer they immediately hung up :)

Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. I recommend to block the whole 8438727xxx range... People did someone answer this number?

SCAM Fraud Call received this morning. Robot indian accented voice started saying "Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs" - just hung up straight away.

SCAM FRAUD! Pretending to be from national insurance department. Tell you there are numerous arrest warrants out against you. Threaten to delete/block your national insurance number if you do not hand over your personal info. Hang up & block the number!
