This is a number genuinely used by paypal to alert users when someone has sent you funds or logged in from an unknown device. Scammers can spoof a text from this number easy enough to fool users into giving out their paypal details to them so be cautious if sent links to log in etc, in fact don't use the links and log in directly from bookmarks or by typing the address if you have concerns.

SCAM / SPAM claiming to be Customs and Excise - if you dial the number back it doesn't exist ? ! I got the same call yesterday from a different Manchester number - also unable to dial it back that number was 0161-427-9225

Bot called Molly rang to ask if I had been involved in an accident.
Another call from 0121 285 9455 even though I am on TPS and the Do Not Call Registry. These people are obviously not checking these lists. They are a nuisance.
