This is a company that say they are a "Microsoft Certified Company", and that you have errors and malware on your computer. They then try to get you to go to www.ammyy.com, so that they can ostensibly "sort out" your problems by connecting to your computer but in reality they are trying to look for financial gain, i.e. passwords, credit card details or bank details.

Chap claiming to be "Jim from Unique Preferences" (with a thick Indian accent) wanted to ask me "a few simple yes or no questions". He insisted he was not trying to sell me anything. The purpose of the call was "marketing". He said his company s partners would be able to make me offers which could save me money. This is a scam. Say they are Microsoft Excel and that your computer has alerted them that illeagal and dangerous material is being downloaded onto your computer!

GDPR has no relevance to these calls which use spoofed numbers, originate outside the UK and are untraceable. NEVER TRY TO RETURN A CALL to an unknown number and NEVER PRESS ...

Received this call today 12 May, rang on my mobile, no message left, obviously a scam call.

Same thing happened to me with this number! Sounded like a party and they were laughing and shouting for approx 3 seconds then they hung down.

Commenting on behalf of my mother in law. They called telling her that her washing machine warranty was expiring (a lie)and was duped. When I called to complain they were confrontational and when she called back to cancel they would not put her through the correct department. Unprofessional sharks - avoid.

The caller was a man with a foreign accent. He started to tell me he was calling about my computer but I decided it was a scam, told him I wasn t interested, hung up and blocked the number. I do not generally answer numbers that I do not recognise but as it was 08.30, I thought it could be somthing important.
