RTA Scam. They are breaking the law by cold calling numbers on the TPS (Telephone Preference Service). I think the best way to hit them where it hurts (if you have the time) is to keep the on the line as long as possible, keeping them thinking you are/might be interested, without giving out personal (or real) details. Whenever I answered the phone - which was annoying in itself, as I have a shop and was serving a valuable customer when the phone rang, I had to cut my conversation short and ran through to answer the phone, whenever I picked up the receiver, before I said anything, they hung up. Caller hung up as soon as I answered. Only one call, but this happened with three different local numbers over 5 days and it was strange.
They called asking if I had been in a car accident. Their information showed I had etc etc. I told them to take my number off their list and never call me again. They persisted with another question........
Sounds like a call centre of some description. Asked the caller to ring me back when there wasn't 3 or 4 other people talking louder than him sounding like they're sat...
Has rang 3 times in twenty minutes asking for someone who left the company over a decade ago. Then asking for the person who deals with the energy account (we have a broker who deals with it all on our behalf) and when told we are not interested rings back anyway.
